BIBLICAL WISDOM FOR PATIENCE AND TRUST.
Finding Strength in Waiting: Biblical Wisdom for Patience and Trust.
Waiting can sometimes be difficult. We often prefer quick and instant results in our lives. However, waiting is a natural part of life. Just like we wait for seeds to grow into food, for seasons to change, for babies to grow, and for trees to provide shade, waiting requires patience.
Sometimes we have to wait for days, months, or even years for things we desire. It could be waiting for an answer to a prayer, an apology we're owed, the right timing, or the fulfillment of a dream. Waiting takes courage.
An example from the Bible is King David, who lived thousands of years ago. He understood the importance of waiting for God's timing. He had to wait to become king and to be rescued from his enemies. David wrote:
"Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord." (Psalms 27:14)
David emphasized waiting on God twice in this verse, showing us how significant it is to pay attention to waiting patiently for the Lord.
However, waiting patiently doesn't mean we should do nothing. We can actively wait on God by staying connected with Him, recognizing His presence in ordinary moments, reading His Word to learn about His plans, worshiping Him regardless of circumstances, serving others, and being grateful for the blessings we already have.
Even when it seems like nothing is happening or doors are not opening, God is still at work. The Bible provides examples of people who waited faithfully. Noah spent years building an ark, trusting God's promise. Ruth journeyed with her mother-in-law and worked hard while relying on God's provision. Joseph remained faithful during his time in prison before being elevated to a position of authority in Egypt. John, while exiled on the island of Patmos, trusted God's plan and wrote books for the New Testament.
No matter what challenges you face, you can ask God for patience and trust that He is in control of your future. Even when uncertainty looms, relying on the Lord enables you to wait well.
